The venue for Tuface's wedding in Dubai

Dedicating this weekend’s blogs to my friend Innocent Idibia, the most gifted and most humble Nigerian music artiste I’ve ever met. Tuface and his long time lover, Annie Macaulay, are exchanging their marriage vows today, at the prestigious Jumeirah Beach Hotel, a five star resort centre in Dubai. Fantastic piece of property I must say.
I’m excited to share some pictures of this lovely hotel from my last visit to Dubai. Enjoy

Help us smash appointment syndicate - US EMBASSY

The United States Embassy in Abuja has appealed to members of the Nigerian public to assist it unmask a syndicate which specialises in selling appointment for visa interviews.
A Vice Consul in the Embassy, Nadine Johnson, said the Embassy was “very concerned” about the possibility of the existence of such a syndicate and was doing everything possible to deal with the situation.
She said this while responding to questions from journalists at the monthly press briefing at the US Embassy, in Abuja, on Wednesday.
Johnson said, “We do not charge any fee apart from the $160 dollars fees.
“We understand that because it is some type of on- line system, people may try to buy up the appointments but we don’t encourage people to do that.
“It is not our system at all, they (people) should never pay extra for it the system is free apart from the $160 fees.

What NOT to eat while traveling abroad ( Part 2 )

When you want to order meat, ask it well done. Cooking food at high temperature can kill bacteria. When it comes to seafood, there is a greater chance that it is cooked in low temperature, not enough to kill the harmful bacteria. Before eating shellfish, ask its source and the time exposed outside and without a cover. It is better to buy packed nuts or raisins from supermarkets for snacks, than eating sandwiches with raw vegetables. It is always safe to drink and eat pasteurized dairy because even non-pasteurized dairy products like cheese and yogurt easily spoil. One of the causes of diarrhea is unpurified water.
Only drink bottled water and if you are ordering it from a restaurant, ask the waiter to bring the unopened bottle to you. Do not use tap water from the local area, but if there is no other source of water, boil the water for at least 10 minutes. Try to use bottled water for brushing your teeth, washing fruits and even for ice. This is especially important if you are in a rural area. Do not let the danger of diarrhea or any food borne illness prevent you from enjoying the culture and food when traveling abroad. It is best to bring some medicines if you fell ill. It is better to be aware of potential risks and danger so you can take precautionary measures and you will have a nice but safe trip.

What NOT to eat while traveling abroad ( Part 1 )

Its travel season once again and one of the things you need to consider when traveling to a different country is the local food. Almost all travelers want to eat something unique to a particular area, the native foods that you cannot just buy anywhere else. The excitement of tasting the dish for the first time makes you throw all cautions into the air, forgetting about food safety. Some people can handle eating new dishes, but your stomach might not be able to like the food and worse this can cause diarrhea. You do not know how the food is prepared and if there is proper food sanitation. The best thing to do when traveling abroad is to choose the food that you think is safe to eat so you will have a full enjoyable travel abroad. When choosing the food that you can eat abroad, try to follow the basic rule. If you can cook, boil or peel the food then it is safe to eat. Eating fruits and vegetables is good, but if it is not peeled, then do not eat it. Fresh salads are most likely to be tainted with bacteria compared to cooked food...to be continued

Whats your style ?

Growing up, most of us were taught to be ourselves and dare to be different. That is something I definitely stuck to while growing up. I take pride in doing what everyone does in a different way.

So what makes you unique ? What makes you different from the crowd ? Do you imitate or you innovate ? Life is just too short for anyone not to express himself or herself in thoughts, word or deed.In all you do, dare to be positively different.

Dana Airlines loses licence

The Federal Government has ordered the immediate suspension of the operational license of Dana Airlines, weeks after the airline resumed from months of ban over the June 3 air crash that killed more than 150 people.
I learnt that the decision to suspend the airline’s operational license became necessary following unresolved issues bordering on safety in the its operations. Glad to see that the Federal Government is listening to we the citizens, at leat on this issue.
